“Shining (Deluxe Edition)” by Swallow the Sun is an expanded version of their ninth studio album, “Shining,” originally released on October 18, 2024, through Century Media Records. This deluxe edition, also referred to as “Shining Dark Deluxe,” is set to be released on April 11, 2025, and features additional content that enhances the original album’s experience.

Swallow the Sun, a Finnish band known for their melodic death-doom metal sound, explores the duality of human experience in this work, blending their signature melancholy with moments of brightness and resilience.

‎Swallow the Sun has shown that music just got better. He has won numerous awards from his previous songs and with the cooperation of his fans he hopes he can win more with this new song theme “Shining (Deluxe Edition) ALBUM.

The deluxe edition includes the original ten tracks from “Shining,” plus four bonus tracks: two live recordings from Hellsinki Metal Festival 2024 (“Innocence Was Long Forgotten” and “What I Have Become”) and two edited versions of existing songs (“Innocence Was Long Forgotten (Innocent Edit)” and “MelancHoly (Holy Edit)”).

The “Holy Edit” of “MelancHoly,” for instance, offers a growl-free take on the fan-favorite track, providing a more atmospheric interpretation. The album is available in 24-bit / 48kHz HD audio, emphasizing its high-quality production, which was overseen by producer Dan Lancaster, known for his work with bands like Bring Me the Horizon and Muse.
