“Patience, Moonbeam” is the latest album by Great Grandpa, a Seattle-based indie rock band, released on March 28, 2025, via Run For Cover Records. It marks their first full-length release in five years, following their 2019 album “Four of Arrows.”

The album captures the essence of lifelong friends and collaborators growing up and evolving together, reflecting a period of personal and creative transformation for the band.

Great Grandpa has shown that music just got better. He has won numerous awards from his previous songs and with the cooperation of his fans he hopes he can win more with this new song theme “ Patience, Moonbeam ALBUM Album“.

After facing a potential breakup in 2021, when members pursued individual paths—new countries, jobs, and life stages—the quintet reunited in 2023. They scrapped much of their earlier work and started fresh, resulting in what has been described as their most ambitious and confident work to date.

The album was produced and mixed by band member Dylan Hanwright, allowing for a slower, more experimental demoing process compared to the pressure-filled studio environment of their previous record.

The tracklist includes:
1. Sleep
2. Never Rest
3. Junior
4. Emma
5. Ladybug
6. Kiss the Dice
7. Doom
8. Task
9. Top Gun
10. Patience, Moonbeam
11. Ephemera
12. Kid

Musically, “Patience, Moonbeam” blends Great Grandpa’s signature elements—nontraditional song structures, hooky melodies, and Al Menne’s soothing yet stirring vocals—with a broader palette of sounds and songwriters.

Tracks like “Kid,” inspired by Pat and Carrie Goodwin’s experience with pregnancy loss, and “Ephemera,” with its Portishead-inspired groove, showcase emotional depth and sonic diversity. The album swings between extremes, from tender to heavy, mirroring the contrasts of life itself.

The band has framed the album as a testament to their bond, with Dylan Hanwright likening their dynamic to “individual swinging pendulums” that occasionally sync up beautifully. It’s a story of resilience, chosen family, and the beauty of reconnection after time apart. If you’re curious about specific tracks or themes, let me know—I can dive deeper!
