Bon Iver’s upcoming album, *SABLE, fABLE*, is set to be released on April 11, 2025, via Jagjaguwar. It marks the fifth studio album from the Justin Vernon-led indie folk project and their first full-length release since 2019’s *i,i*. The album builds on the foundation laid by the *SABLE,* EP, which dropped in October 2024, featuring three tracks:

“THINGS BEHIND THINGS BEHIND THINGS,” “S P E Y S I D E,” and “AWARDS SEASON.” These songs, characterized by sparse, introspective minimalism, serve as the opening chapter of *SABLE, fABLE*, transitioning into a broader, more vibrant nine-song narrative in the fABLE portion.

Bon Iver has shown that music just got better. He has won numerous awards from his previous songs and with the cooperation of his fans he hopes he can win more with this new song theme “SABLE, fABLE ALBUM “

Co-produced by Vernon and Jim-E Stack, the album was primarily recorded at Vernon’s April Base studio in Wisconsin, a space that had been dormant during years of renovation until its revival for this project. The creative spark for the album ignited on February 22, 2022, when Stack arrived at the studio with Danielle Haim, leading to the collaborative track “If Only I Could Wait.”

Additional guest appearances include Dijon and Flock of Dimes, notably on “Day One.” The album’s sound shifts from the stark solitude of SABLE, to a lush, radiant pop aesthetic in fABLE exploring themes of love, healing, and transformation while acknowledging the lingering shadows of past pain.

The full tracklist is as follows:
1. THINGS BEHIND THINGS BEHIND THINGS
2. S P E Y S I D E
3. AWARDS SEASON

The lead single, “Everything Is Peaceful Love,” released on February 14, 2025, with a music video directed by John Wilson, captures the euphoria of new love. Described as “the epilogue” of Bon Iver’s journey, *SABLE, fABLE* contrasts the darkness of its prologue with a hopeful, outward-reaching story, though its closing track, “Au Revoir,” hints at a possible farewell.

The album is available for pre-order on vinyl, CD, and cassette, with special editions like a limited yellow vinyl LP exclusive to certain stores. Posts on X from the official Bon Iver account confirm the excitement, noting it’s just over two weeks away as of today, March 25, 2025.
