“Forever Howlong” is the upcoming third studio album by the British band Black Country, New Road, set for release on April 4, 2025, via Ninja Tune. This album marks their first studio effort since 2022’s “Ants From Up There” and follows their 2023 live album “Live at Bush Hall.”

Produced by James Ford—known for his work with Fontaines D.C., Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode, and Blur—the record introduces a new chapter for the band after the departure of former lead vocalist Isaac Wood in 2022.

Black Country, New Road has shown that music just got better. He has won numerous awards from his previous songs and with the cooperation of his fans he hopes
he can win more with this new song theme “ Forever Howlong ALBUM “.

The album features a shift in dynamics, with vocal and songwriting duties primarily shared among three members: Tyler Hyde (bass), Georgia Ellery (violin), and May Kershaw (keys). This trio of female voices brings a distinct perspective, setting “Forever Howlong” apart from the band’s earlier work.

Georgia Ellery has noted, “It created a real through line for the album, having three girls singing. It’s definitely very different to ‘Ants From Up There,’ because of the female perspective—and the music we’ve made also complements that.”

The result is a cohesive yet expansive sound, blending folk, prog, baroque pop, and alt-rock, with influences ranging from Joanna Newsom to Randy Newman.

The tracklist for “Forever Howlong” includes:
1. Besties
2. The Big Spin
3. Socks
4. Salem Sisters
5. Two Horses
6. Mary
7. Happy Birthday
8. For the Cold Country
9. Nancy Tries to Take the Night
10. Forever Howlong
11. Goodbye (Don’t Tell Me)

The album’s lead single, “Besties,” released on January 30, 2025, is the first studio track to feature Georgia Ellery on lead vocals, accompanied by a video directed by Rianne White. A second single, “Happy Birthday,” dropped on March 3, 2025, with a video directed by Lesley-Anne Rose.

Both tracks showcase the band’s evolving style, emphasizing subtlety over melodrama—a deliberate move away from their earlier, more intense soundscapes.

“Forever Howlong” will be available in multiple formats, including a standard recycled black double vinyl, a signed white label 2LP, an indie-exclusive negative effect artwork 2LP, and a collector’s edition on translucent eco jazz red vinyl with an alternate tracklist. The collector’s edition reverses the order of tracks 8-11 and splits the title track into two parts.

Black Country, New Road will support the album with an extensive 2025 tour across North America, the UK, and Europe, including festival stops like Primavera Sound and a headline show at London’s O2 Brixton Academy on October 31.

As of now, with only two singles released and the full album still 11 days away from its April 4 drop, “Forever Howlong” is shaping up to be an ambitious reinvention for a band known for its adaptability and musical innovation.
